Not Just Isolated Individuals: The Body and the Common Good
A common good is a good in which several persons can share without diminishing it. Children are a common good of their parents and of the whole family. When some of the children are already older and a new one comes home from the hospital, a circle forms around this new center. The baby sleeps much after the effort of birth. In addition, it cannot speak. And yet its presence radiates. Everyone in the circle suns itself in this presence.
